ABOUT PROJECT BLUE BOOK

Project Blue Book is a psychedelic funk/jam band that induces a traveling dance party at every venue it plays. With members from America, Europe, and Africa, PBB continues to spread is unique music throughout the land.

BIOGRAPHY

Project Blue Book was a study by the United States Air Force of 12,618 unidentified flying object reports. The project shut down in December 1969, concluding most reports were misidentifications of natural phenomena, posing no threat to national
security. About 6% of the flying objects remained unidentified.

40 years later, an unclassifiable band took the name Project Blue Book, piloting grooves from other worlds.

Hailing from the United States of America, Project Blue Book was conceived in 2007 in Boston, MA and now tours across America with band members from all corners of the planet Earth. Playing a uniquely diverse brand of psychedelic jam funk, the band has just released its debut full-length album, “Cheetah Speed,” produced by the incomparable Alan Evans, of Soulive.

A journey through funk, prog, reggae, gospel, and rock, “Cheetah Speed” marks a new phase for the emerging band. CD release shows throughout CA, MA and NY showcased a new brand of live Project Blue Book, featuring a punishing four piece horn section, sultry vocals, a tight rhythm section and soaring guitar. This incredible band continues to electrify dance floors in 2011.

The core of Project Blue Book has been playing together since high school in Boston, but members hail from as far as Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and England. The band, and it’s members have shared the stage with the likes of Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave., Badfish, the Ryan Montbleau Band, State Radio, Orgone, Honey Island Swamp Band, Max Weinberg, Black Thought, Michael McDonald, Alan Evans of Soulive, The Brew, The Joshua Tree, Otis Grove, The Nate Wilson Group, Marty Richards of J. Geils Band, and The Dirty Notes. The band has frequented venues such as Sullivan Hall (NYC), Brighton Music Hall (Boston), TT the Bear’s (Boston), Tammany Hall (Worcester), Stephen Talkhouse (NY), The Hard Rock Café Cavern Club (Boston), the Boom Boom Room (SFO), The Mint (LA), The Joint (LA), OC Tavern (Orange County), Headhunters (Austin), The Dizzy Rooster (Austin), Crash Mansion (NYC), Public Assembly (Brooklyn) among countless others.
